CONSULTATIONS

Consultations are by appointment, but we also cater to walk-ins and emergencies. Patients are triaged according to standard Triage protocols, so emergencies and unstable patients are prioritised. Routine and booked patients may be delayed if an unstable patient must be attended to. While every attempt is made to stick to appointment times, we may run behind if a patient has more complex complaints that require more time or requires admission to hospital. Please be mindful of this, as you may be the one needing similar care. Patients are usually booked according to doctor’s availability, however, we are all in the same practice, so if your assigned doctor is busy or delayed, we will arrange for you to see the other doctors in the practice. Walk in patients and emergency patients will be seen by one of the available doctors on duty.

FEES

Our practice is not contracted to medical aids. Patients are required to settle their accounts on the day of their consultations, by means of cash or credit card payments. A full invoice and receipt are given to the patients to submit to medical aid.

As per HPCSA guidelines the following can be charged for:

  • Telephonic or email requests for scripts
  • Repeat scripts
  • Telephonic consultations
  • Completion of special motivation letters and reports
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Interpretation
  • Completion of chronic applications

HPCSA requires that all patients be physically examined and assessed for the renewal of their chronic medication.

FEEDBACK

Feedback is important to us, to continually strive for patient satisfaction. Patients are encouraged to email comments, suggestions, complaints, and compliments to Illesha@evamed.co.za.
